Scheme

Right, here is the plan. Last summer, I went on a walk north with two friends and made it to Sheffield, then we fell out for a bit and went home.

But we soon made up again and agreed that we should do yearly projects or journeys in the summer. I suggested that for 2010 we should build a boat and sail it about... this was sort of ambitious, so we decided on buying a boat and sailing it about instead.

It's 45% to impress people, 50% for dressing up as pirates, 5% misc.

We are planning to start at the river Soar, join with the Trent, then the Humber before exiting on the east coast, skirting round until it meets the Isle of wight. This is ambitious and foolhardy and also a lot scary. I have considered the many ways in which this can be fatal, or soilingly close to fatal. I have bragged about it too much to be discouraged though.

This one is going to take a bit of planning. I'm involved in planning the route, aqcuiring the ship, safety and handling.

However, there are three things I'm not sure about.

1. We would like to make the journey as clean as possible, that's why we're sailing. What can I get involved in that would appreciate this kind of thing... and might even be willing to part with some cash.

2. I want people from the internet to follow us in adoration. How do I do this?

3. anyone know a good carpenter? We need a figurehead.

4. What legal stuff will we have to do first?

5. Do I need to pass a test?

This blog is a place where I research and store the answers to those questions.
